Subject: Pay What You Can Tickets Wednesday 12/8 to Saturday 12/11
THIS WEEK ONLY! Wednesday-Friday, December 8, 9 and 10, 2021 at 7:30pm Saturday December 11, 2021 at 2pm For our preview performances this week we are offering audience members to Pay What You Can to attend our performances via donation on our website. | | Meet the cast of A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn | The cast of powerhouse vocalists and performers includes Ayanna Hardy (Earthrise, Black Nativity), Marcel Worrell Miller (A Nite at the Dew Drop Inn, Black Nativity), Robert E. Person (Six Degrees of Separation, A Nite at the Dew Drop Inn, Black Nativity), Yvette Spears (A Nite at the Dew Drop Inn), Fashad Tyler (Black Nativity [Helen Hayes nomination]) and Sherice Payne Williams (A Nite at the Dew Drop Inn, Black Nativity). "The cast of A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn, bring their unique gifts to the stage in celebration of the juke joint, those night spots where people could leave their troubles and the door, sit back, and enjoy the blues and laughs with old friends," said Anacostia Playhouse Artistic Director Stephawn Stephens. "The show's musical themes of love, both lost and found, remind us of life itself and that we can still kick up the dust and raise the roof to the heavens with our voices." | | Take a Look Inside the Dew Drop Inn | | | They're back and at it again! The Dew Drop Performers are letting the good times roll sassy, hot, and steamy on a cold snowy night. A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn is a musical celebration and tribute to the Juke Joint, to those iconic nightspots that were known for good food, music, and maybe a little trouble (if you weren't careful). This cabaret-style presentation highlights themes of love found, love lost, and love renewed in the midst of holiday cheer. It features songs made famous by Big Mama Thorton, Fats Waller, Etta James, and Dinah Washington, just to name a few. Performances run December 8 thru January 9 | | Keeping You Safe The safety of our patrons, performers and staff are our top priority. This is why the Anacostia Playhouse has joined our colleagues in the theatre community in requiring proof of vaccination for indoor, in-person productions. In addition, audience members will be required to wear masks except when eating or drinking. Visit anacostiaplayhouse.com/vaccination-update/ for full details and policies. | | Anacostia Playhouse | 2020 Shannon Place, SE | Washington DC 20020 | 202 290 2328 | www.anacostiaplayhouse.org | | | | |
