PBS KIDS "TALK ABOUT" SHOW
ROLES
Actual Family Members, All Ethnicities. There will not be people combined to look like a family, these need to be actual families. Kids (5-9 years) and an adult family member are to audition. Only 1 Adult can be in the video and 1-2 Kids that are in the 5 to 9 age range. One video will be in Spanish, so there will be the need for some Spanish-speaking families.
Looking for all types of families, diversity is a must. Looking for families who might even have a child or a parent with a disability - so we can explore the topics of perseverance and resiliency. Families with adopted children; Families who have divorced parents. Families who might have a grandparent as the main caregiver.
RATE : Non-Union
$500 per child. Adult family members are there to prompt children.
SHOOT DATES
10/25 to 10/29/21.
COVID-19 PROTOCOL
Adults must be fully vaccinated. CDC and OSHA guidelines regarding COVID-19 will be followed. There will be testing on the production site.
LOCATION
Washington, DC; Baltimore, or Northern Virginia.
AUDITION SUBMISSION
PLEASE SUBMIT BY TUESDAY MORNING, 10/12
To submit an audition, please send 2 recent photos of your family. Please include contact information (name/phone/email). You can supply that in a picture of the written information or with a document. Also submit a short video (under 2 minutes) with a brief introduction (names, kid age(s), and what is unique about your family) and a conversation between you and your child(ren) on one of the following topics:
- Fairness
- Friendship
- Loss, or Family Separation. (Questions on the next page)
- What you liked/didn't like about at-home virtual learning
