Mikor a betlehemesek karácsonykor házról-házra járnak, üdvözlő versük végén ezt kérdezik: Szabad-e bejönni ide betlehemmel? A Kaláka együttes karácsonyi hangversenyének kerete ez a betlehemes játék. A műsorban elhangzanak magyar és más nemzetiségű karácsonyi népdalok, régi egyházi énekek és karácsonyi versekre írott Kaláka dalok.
1987-ben jelent meg a karácsonyi Kaláka lemez, és azóta járnak a Kaláka-betlehemesek adventkor „házról-házra": közösségről-közösségre templomról-templomra, iskoláról-iskolára, színházról-színházra. Ahogy a karácsony minden generációnak ünnep, így ez az előadás egyszerre egy esti templomi koncert Magyarországon, délelőtti gyerekműsor a diaszpórában, és hétvégi családi program az egész világon.
A kétszeres Kossuth-díjas Kaláka Együttes tavaly ünnepelte fennállása 50. évfordulóját: 1200 dal, 30 lemez és több mint 10 000 koncert fémjelzi a zenekar öt évtizedes pályafutását.
Pro Cultura Subcarpathica
A kárpátaljai székhelyű civil szervezet célja, hogy a kulturális kezdeményezések által építse, erősítse és fejlessze a kárpátaljai magyar közösségi életet. Az alapítvány 2017-től tandíj-kiegészítő támogatást nyújt helyi művészeti iskolában tanuló magyar anyanyelvű diákok számára. A koncert bevételéből ezt a programot támogatjuk.

At Christmastime when players go from house to house the last line of the greeting poem goes: May we come in here with our Nativity play? The Kaláka Christmas concert takes place within the framework of this type of Nativity play. During the program Hungarian and Christmas songs of other ethnic groups are performed, as well as hymns and Kaláka tunes composed to accompany Christmas poems.
The Kaláka ensemble's Christmas record came out in 1987. Ever since Kaláka Nativity players have been going from "house to house" during Advent: that is, from community to community, church to church, school to school, theater to theater. As Christmas is a celebration for all generations, so too this performance is an evening church concert in Hungary, a morning program for children in the Hungarian diaspora and, at the same time, a weekend event for the entire family wherever in the world they reside.
Kaláka Ensemble, two time winners of the Kossuth prize, celebrated their fiftieth anniversary last year; the hallmarks of their five-decade long career are: 1,200 songs, 30 albums and more than 10,000 concerts.
Pro Cultura Subcarpathica
By means of cultural initiatives this Subcarpathian non governmental organization aims to build, strengthen and develop Hungarian community life in Subcarpathia. Since 2017 the organization has been offering tuition assistance to Hungarian speaking students attending local schools for the arts. Proceeds from this concert will be donated to support this initiative.
