Social Media Intern

STG is looking for our next social media intern to join a thriving communications team. You'll be helping progressive organizations and like minded companies amplify their messaging, create content, and influence policy.

You:

• Want a fast-paced internship where you'll continually be challenged and grow your skill sets;
• Are a strong writer who feels comfortable drafting tweets and op-eds;
• Have a knack for creating social media content that pops;
• Thrive in a deadline-driven environment;
• Work well on a team;
• Have an acute attention to detail and don't drop the ball;
• Are punctual and reliable, would never leave your team hanging;
• Are passionate about progressive causes including (but not limited to) energy and the environment, public lands, and health care;
• Have a good sense of humor;
• Want to change the world and think communications plays a role in that ambition;
• Are kind, friendly, and don't take yourself too seriously.

The Job:

• Reports directly to the Digital Communications Manager;
• Draft social media copy, action alerts, and other materials;
• Edit simple Wordpress or Squarespace websites;
• Design social media graphics and other online collateral (experience in Photoshop and InDesign not required, but a plus);
• Pull metrics and data to help analyze campaign results;
• Brainstorm concepts for campaign tactics like paid online advertising;
• Assist other members of the communications team as needed.
