I must apologize for stating that the American Hungarian Foundation had an official role in the Smithsonian Festival and that volunteers from the organization did not live up to their commitments. Actually, the Foundation had not been involved and actually any private persons associated with the Foundation were more than generous in their volunteer work.
The role of the Foundation, as its Director informed me, was “tangential at best and was limited to disseminating PR material regarding the festival.”
The Foundation is one of the most respected scholarly and professional organizations in the US devoted to Hungarian studies in the US.
