[Unicum] Relocating to the U.S.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I got this address from Mr. Béla Gedeon. I have been planning to relocate to the U.S. for many years and I feel like now is the time to take that step. I have already started to look for job opportunities as I would like to settle down as soon as possible. 

I have been learning English since I was five years old, spent a year in London where I achieved the Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) language exam. I have a BA degree in Communication and Media Studies and I currently work as managing editor of a Budapest based English language magazin called Funzine. I was advised by Mr. Gedeon to get in touch with you, as there might be some job possibilities posted on the Unicum online forum. 

I attached my resume along with a covering letter. I truly appreciate any kind of help I can get.

[Unicum] Las Vegas connection/Las Vegas-i kapcsolat

Dear Unicum Readers:

We recently moved to Las Vegas from Maryland (after being a Marylander for 16 years) and I wonder if anyone is aware of a Google group or Listserve mailing list similar to Unicum in Vegas or some other form of organized Hungarian community or forum.

The 2nd reason I write is that we're looking for a live-in nanny for our 2-year old son.  Let me know if you can recommend anybody.

[Unicum] Szálláskeresés Washington D.C.-ben vagy a város vonzáskörzetében

Turai Zoltán vagyok, 30 éves, jogász végzettségű, káros szenvedélyektől mentes, rendszerető fiatalember. Azért írok Önöknek, mert elnyertem egy féléves ösztöndíjat egy washingtoni kutatóintézethez (http://cepa.org/Andrassy_Fellowship), a vízum intézésével haladok, de szállást nem garantál az ösztöndíj, így azt itthonról kell keresnem, ami nem könnyű feladat Budapestről.

Azt szeretném kérdezni, hogy Önöknek, illetve ismerőseiknek lenne-e egy kiadó szobája Washington északnyugati városrészében, vagy Virginia, illetve Maryland olyan részein, ahonnan Washington belvárosa könnyen megközelíthető tömegközlekedéssel? Az ösztöndíjam 6 hónapos kintlétet tesz lehetővé, várhatóan június 5-10. között érkezem, a szállásra tehát ekkortól kb. december 20-ig lenne szükségem.

[Unicum] Hungarian Charity Ball - May 19th, 2017 at Sheraton Premier at Tysons Corner

Dear Friends,

 

Please join us for our annual Hungarian Charity Ball - Magyar Bál on Friday, May 19th at 6PM at the Sheraton Premiere At Tysons Corner.

 

The proceeds from this year's benefit event will help restore the Eszényi Bocskay István Middle School in Ukraine. We would also like to establish a Hungarian scholarship fund to support Hungarian and Hungarian-American student exchange programs.

 

Music for the evening will be provided by the Perfect Show Band from Budapest, Hungary. A short program will include folk dancesby our own Hungarian Scouts of Washington, DC "Regősök " in authentic Hungarian folk costumes. The dinner featuring Hungarian wine selections will end with "Dobos torta" for each guest to make this a memorable evening.
