(A Baltimore film collective is seeking actors. This is a great way to get footage and experience, and shoots are one-day, weekend shoots.)
Several Short Films Seeking Actors
Charm City Filmmakers is casting for fourteen short films and a live performance written and directed by its members. Each film shoot will be in the Baltimore/DC area. Actors will be compensated with credits, copy, and craft.
We will be holding In-Person Auditions on the weekends of February 22nd/23rd and March 1st/2nd. Each director will be present on only one of those days so please be aware that if you want to read for a particular part you must come in on the day that director is available. ABSOLUTION
A Catholic priest with a dark secret from his past must face the deadly consequences of his actions.
Priest (Primary) Male, 60s to 70s. A former paid assassin who became a priest in an attempt to hide from his former employers wrestles with guilt over his lack of faith, while facing the consequences of his actions when someone is sent to kill him.
Clean-Cut Man (Primary) Male, 30s. The man sent to kill the Priest, who has no desire to kill him and wants out of the "life".
Well-Dressed Woman (Primary) Female, 30s. An associate of the Clean-Cut Man who goes with him to make sure he does his job.
Young Man (Supporting) Male, late teens to early 20s. A troubled young man who seeks the Priest's counsel, only to be brushed off.
THE BRIDGE ON CARROLL CREEK
After a chance encounter in a brewery, Jesye imagines building a life together with her crush, Finn.
Jesye (Primary) Female (open to MtF and NB), 20s to 30s. Lively and unfiltered, she's a hopeless romantic who keeps her cards close to her chest.
Finn (Primary) Male, 20's to 30's. Cool and easygoing, he has a tendency to go with the flow but can sometimes be aloof, part Irish but on his dad's side.
CASIMIR
A client's case offers an opportunity to conclude a private eye's history with an infamous gangster, but nothing comes so easy.
Roy Douglas (Primary) Male, 30s to 40s. A Humphrey Bogart type private investigator down on his luck who finds passion in his new case.
Doris Gayle (Primary) Female, 30s to early 40s. Very caring and wears her emotions on her sleeve. Secretly the femme fatale.
One-Eyed Saul (Supporting) Male, 50+. A cunning mobster with a vendetta against Roy. Saul is overconfident and relies on his goons perhaps too much.
Tony (Supporting) Male, 30s to 40s. A sharp, slick, and quick-thinking goon with a temper. Tony gets frustrated working with his partner but is fiercely loyal to his boss.
Bobby (Supporting) Male, 30s to 40s. A bumbling and slow-thinking goon. Bobby is loyal to his boss but may often forget a thing or two.
THE HAIRCUT
A teenage boy is forced against his will by his father to get a haircut.
Alex (Primary) Male, Late teens. A shy and emotional teen boy who is afraid to stand up to his father.
George (Primary) Male, 30s to 40s. A stern and no nonsense father who doesn't listen to his son, and thinks he knows best.
Tony (Supporting) Male, 30s to 40s. An average Joe barber who is a longtime friend of George.
HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE
Kieran tricks his best friend Desiree into attending a Sexaholics Anonymous meeting by making her think that she's walking into an exclusive hook-up club. Kieran scrambles to keep his plan from backfiring in the most awkward and side-splitting way possible.
Desiree (Primary) Female, African American, 30s. Confident, flirtatious and always the center of attention. Strong comedic timing needed.
Margot (Supporting) Female, 20s to 50s. The group leader. Composed but struggling to keep order as the meeting spirals. Dry humor or deadpan delivery is a plus.
Kevin (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s. Buff, biker type, serious about self-improvement. Strong physical presence is preferred.
Ursula (Supporting) Female, 20s to 40s. Shy, meek and easily flustered. Gets caught in the chaos. Must excel at nervous, awkward reactions.
INFECTED
A group of survivors in the zombie apocalypse are torn between two prominent figures within the camp, Brenda and Rocky. They have to decide whether or not they kill a child.
Rocky (Primary) Male, 30s to 50s, White/Caucasian. A charismatic savage who uses manipulation and brutality to maintain order. He wants power over the camp.
Brenda (Supporting) Female, 20s to 30s. She's a loving, nurturing woman, who believes that humanity can have a second chance.
Colin (Supporting) Male, 20s. A young man that is easily intimidated and is deeply conflicted about what they are doing.
Jason (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s, Black/African or Hispanic. He's just a guy who wants to survive, the topic of taking someone's life has never hit him.
Elaine (Supporting) Female, 20s to 30s, White/Caucasian. A woman that just wants to survive and tries to keep her head down.
Mother (Supporting) Female, 30s. A mother in denial about her infected daughter.
NO F.O.M.O
A struggling artist confronts his successful friend, forcing them both to question the choices that shaped their lives and the cost of ambition.
Isaiah (Primary), Male, 20s. Clean cut, stern, and analytical. He holds a high-paying job that demands precision and control.
OFF THE UNIT
A pilot for a comedy sitcom set in a hospice unit. A new doctor's first day on the job meeting the quirky staff.
Hope (Primary) Female, 20s to 40s. A new doctor on the job, who is clean-cut, kind, dedicated, well-grounded.
Stone (Primary) Male, 20s to 40s. A know-it-all arrogant doctor and medical director of the unit.
George (Supporting) Male, 50+. A jovial dying patient who is at peace with death.
Cindy (Supporting) Female, 50+. Loving wife to George, caregiver and supportive.
Janice (Supporting) Female, 40s. Nurse manager of the unit who is an over the top new age spiritualist believing in crystal healing and esotericism.
Nurse Connie (Supporting) Female, 40s. Well-seasoned nurse who is set in her ways, also arrogant in what she does and tired of doctors.
Jordan (Supporting) Female. Is pregnant and showing, hard working, dedicated and down to earth.
Susan (Supporting). Chaplain who is quirky with a southern twang.
ONE LAST TIME
A mother reminisces on one very fateful day from her childhood.
Tiana (Primary) Female, 20s to 40s, Black/African. Tiana is Naomi's mother, a resilient, humble, loving mom.
Moe (Primary) Male, 20s to 40s, Black/African. Moe is a hardworking manager that gets drunk often when in distress and becomes abusive to his family.
Young Naomi (Primary) Female, Under 13 years old, Black/African. Young Naomi is a loving, sweet, young girl that is very protective of her mother.
Naomi (Supporting) Female, 20s to 30s, Black/African. She is Young Naomi all grown up, reflecting on a critical moment from her youth.
Ralph (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s, Black/African. Naomi's supportive and understanding husband.
PLAYHOUSE ECHOES
A new immigrant's stay at his new rental is disturbed by a haunting playhouse, except it shows up only before him.
Yahir (Primary) Male, 30s, Middle Eastern. Tries to settle and understand the alien environment. Has a past wound that unravels over the course of the short.
Amira (Primary) Female, 40s, White/Caucasian. Educated, recently divorced, and is in dire need of money, hence opening her house to an immigrant.
Kid (Supporting) Teens. Local hooligan.
SIZE MATTERS
Four best friends debate the coming environmental apocalypse and decide on a plan of action.
Carl (Primary) Male, 20s to 30s. He is kind, loves details and history. He also loves working in IT Customer service and is quite happy with his place in life.
Adrian (Primary) Male, 20 to 30s, A gregarious, risk-taker who also loves sarcasm. Currently has his own lawn care business.
Pam - (Primary) Female, 20s to 30s. An outspoken, edgy, positive, fearless, modern woman. Currently employed as a restaurant server.
John (Primary) Male, 20s to 30s. An honest, trustworthy, questioning man who is not easily fooled. He currently works as a security guard.
SOFT SPOT
A woman rekindles with an old friend, who is now an up-and-coming music producer.
Toni (Primary) Female, 20s to 30s. Caring and funny but shy and anxious in social setting; interested in J.C.
J.C. (Primary) Male, 20s to 30s. Chill, calm, collected and talented; interested in Toni.
Chelsea (Supporting) Female, 20s to 30s. Loud, boisterous and vulgar; best friend of Toni.
Cynthia (Supporting) Female, 20s to 30s. Loves to prank, but is very inviting.
Ross (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s. Direct, and nosy, but talented singer; lead of the band.
Rion (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s. Goes with the flow; plays keys for the band.
Spencer (Supporting) Male, 20s to 30s. Quiet and timid; plays guitar for the band.
SURPRISE DINNER
On the 25th Anniversary of their First Date, Jack is cooking a celebratory supper to surprise Diane.
Jack (Primary) Male, 40s to 50s. He is an energetic individual who joyfully owns his kitchen. He deeply loves Diane and is preparing a surprise for her.
Diane (Voiceover) Female, 40s to 50s. She has been keeping a romantic affair secret from Jack.
WITHOUT MY DAD
A father leaves his children left without answers and wondering what happened to their relationships.
Kathy (Primary) Female, 40s. Single parent of two. She is depressed but loves her kids.
Hazel (Supporting) Female, Teens. Teenage Hazel is depressed and hurt because her dad left when she was young.
Hazel (Supporting) Female, 20s. Adult Hazel is a financial coach now.
Ericka (Supporting) Female, Teens. Hazel's best friend.
William (Supporting) Male, 40's, Father who abandoned his kids.

Veronica (Primary) Female, 20s. The Ingénue. The studio's rising star, furious over Victor's betrayal.
Walter (Primary) Male, 40+. The Sound Engineer. A silent force but Victor stole something he cherished.
Clifford (Primary) Male, 40+. The Scriptwriter. The man who wrote Victor's success—only to be cast aside.
