(Career Progress) HIRING: Join the CVP Team as the Curriculum and Research Associate

Fair Election Center's Campus Vote Project (CVP) was launched in 2012 to expand our work on student voting issues. We work with universities, community colleges, faculty, students, and election officials to reduce barriers to student voting. CVP helps campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with the information they need to register and vote. Campus Vote Project's Curriculum and Research Associate has four main areas of focus:


  1. Planning and executing civic engagement programming that will be presented to our student fellows across the country, as well as tracking program completion, including organizing student data in our CRM

  2. Brainstorming ways to uniquely engage students in legislative advocacy, redistricting, milestone commemorations (i.e. 26th Amendment), etc. within CVP and with partners in the student voting space.

  3. Increasing CVP's engagement with faculty interested in bringing student voter engagement into their classroom 

  4. Expanding the reach of the CVP Research Collective and helping with research tasks.

Position Description
Campus Vote Project seeks a Curriculum and Research Associate. The Curriculum and Research Associate is a key member of our team. They are charged with supporting the work of the Curriculum & Research Manager. Primarily, the Curriculum and Research Associate will assist in program creation and execution, as well as data tracking  with "Democracy Fellows," student positions committed to carrying out democratic engagement programs at their colleges or universities. Democracy Fellows coordinate with administration and faculty, helping organize student voter registration, voter education, and voter turnout activities. 

This position will also seek to create and maintain meaningful relationships with faculty members through our Fellowship and Research programs. The Curriculum and Research Associate also works to expand the reach of the CVP Research Collective, which is a community of student researchers who pursue understanding more about the higher education and civic education ecosystem. Finally, the Curriculum and Research Associate will participate in partnerships with Students Learn Students Vote Coalition members. This position reports directly to the Curriculum and Research Manager. 

The ideal candidate has a passion for voting rights with a particular interest in helping college students access our democracy, is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and has a knowledge of student curriculum creation, and experience working with college faculty.

Goals of the Position


  • Provide meaningful and unique learning experiences for Democracy Fellows through trainings, discussion blocks, panels, lectures, and more

  • Assist in the implementation and upkeep of the Neon CRM and its use in organizing student data and tracking Fellow requirements

  • Create and maintain meaningful relationships with faculty members, incorporating them in both CVP programming and research

  • Expand the reach of the CVP Research Collective

Requirements


  • History of organizing work on campuses or with political/issue campaigns

  • History in curriculum/program development for young people

  • Experience building relationships with college faculty members

  • Experience conducting research about civic engagement and/or higher education a benefit

  • Experience engaging diverse constituencies and experience with institutions of higher education a benefit

  • Experience working with Neon CRM not required, but CRM experience a positive



The position is a full-time position. Salary range commensurate with experience is $52,000 - $56,000.
