Senior Campaigns Coordinator
The Fairness Project -- remote -- $70-$85k
Details and application: https://apply.workable.com/tfp/j/9A838CBE83/
Who knows when it happened. Maybe when you first volunteered for an election. Maybe when you organized friends into your first coalition. Maybe when you became a student leader. Maybe you've just always loved that feeling of pushing, pushing, pushing yourself ... and then winning.
If that's you, and you have a few years of progressive campaigning or organizing under your belt, pay attention to this job. The Fairness Project could be a perfect for you, if:
- You want to learn a ton, FAST. Our strategy -- running ballot initiatives for economic justice -- isn't familiar to everyone. But if you are innately curious and absorb new ideas quickly, this job will hugely expand your horizons and open up a lot of doors.
- You aren't afraid of unfamiliar tasks. You're a generalist who can take whatever strange and new tasks are thrown at you. In fact, you love trying something new each day. No two days will be the same.
- You get the big picture strategy, and also sweat the details. You double check your work. Sometimes you even double check other people's work. You know it's important to get the details right, especially when crucial victories are on the line.
- People are your people. You like to work in coalitions, meet new organizers, coordinate across departments, explore new communities, and be social. You'll be honored to represent us, and we'll be confident that you can read a room and
- You love to WIN. Issues of economic and racial justice matter to you, in your bones, and you want to make a measurable impact on the lives of millions of Americans. (If this isn't you, please, don't apply.)
- You don't want to find a new gig every cycle. TFP is always on -- running campaigns while building the next set of them. You won't need to move to a new state, look for a new job the second Wednesday in November, or go work for a firm.
About The Fairness Project
While Congress and state legislatures across the country remain paralyzed by partisan disagreement, ballot initiatives provide a path forward for improving millions of lives. The Fairness Project (TFP) incubates, funds, and provides strategic and technical assistance to state and municipal ballot initiative campaigns and drives a national narrative to elevate economic fairness issues. Through ballot initiatives, TFP offers voters the opportunity to do what politicians cannot or will not: take direct action to enact sound economic policy and change their own lives.
To date, we have won 18 of our 19 campaigns, changed more than 15 million lives, delivered health care for 830,000 people, and put more than $15.6 billion in working families' pockets.
The Fairness Project is committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. These values are reflected in our campaign work that fights racial, gender, sexual, and economic inequality. Internally, we seek to build and empower a diverse staff and leadership team. People of color, people with disabilities, women, and LGBT candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The Fairness Project is an Equal Opportunity Employer without regard to race, color, religion, gender or gender identity, pregnancy, sexual orientation, age, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic as established under law.
