Re: [Unicum] Digest for unicum@googlegroups.com - 1 update in 1 topic

Gabor,

We attempted to do the same back in 2004. I am attaching the database of nearly 500 books that we catalogued back then (in MS Access), so at least you are not starting from scratch.

Good luck!

Sandor

Our Kossuth Foundation is collecting books in Hungarian for what we hope will be a small Hungarian lending library which we hope to open in the near future.  We have a lot of work to do first in cataloguing the books we already have, getting bookcases and organizing a team of volunteers to keep the library open at least one night a week or perhaps on a Saturday but our goal is to take a room at the Kossuth House and convert it into a combined library and language class.  Please let me know if anyone is interested in helping to do this and whether the books could be donated to the Kossuth Foundation with the donor taking a potential tax deduction as we are a 501(c)(3) organization.

I can be reached at grozsa@kossuthfoundation.org or 703-380-1308.

Dear Sir or Madam,

The widow of a Hungarian speaking gentleman whom I know has donated a collection of books in Hungarian to the Gaithersburg Branch of the American Association of University Women for our used book sale.

We sell books for $3 for a hard cover and $1 for paperback, and the proceeds go to college or university scholarships for women.

If you know of any person or institution that would be interested in books written in the Hungarian language please forward this information to them.

Thank you very much for your kind attention to my request,

In case you are interested, please contact: Maria Elek Roberts via email: meroberts27700@cs.com<mailto:meroberts27700@cs.com>
