(Career Progress) UI Framework Lead -- NGP VAN

The mid-level UI Framework Lead is a member of the Unified Design Team (UDT), a team that works across the entire product suite to unify and modernize product designs by building and supporting our UI framework. This person plays a technical and design role on the UDT, working with product managers, product designers, and other engineers to build new and improve existing front-end features. The UI Framework Lead has a deep skill-set in HTML5, CSS3 and other modern web technologies. The UI Framework Lead evangelizes best practices around quality, performance, and stability of front-end code. This position reports to the Director of Design.

An ideal candidate also has a strong background in UI frameworks, automation of UI components with experience, and passion for delivering beautiful user interfaces. Candidate also should be confident and have the ability to persuade, win trust and influence adoption of framework best practices and outcomes.


Responsibilities

·         - Own and extend our Progress UI framework to support front-end development across multiple development teams, in order to maintain our product design standards for     our enterprise-level CRM platform

·         - Help set our UI technical best practices and drive our overall UI framework architecture as we innovate and build net-new features and product

·         - Collaborate across delivery teams and our UX team to ensure we engineer and build excellent user interfaces for our clients and users that are also extensible and             reliable at very large scale 

·         - Train and champion Progress UI adoption across other development team engineers to build great apps

·        -  Leverage React, modern CSS (flexbox, SCSS, etc.) and other frameworks to ensure the UI architecture blends seamlessly into the back-end architectures

·         - Participate in design sessions with cross-functional team members, coming up with the optimum technical solution that not only meets the business requirements, but         does so with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind

·        -  Lead and organize a new UI Guild of voluntary engineering members with a goal to shape and standardize UI development best practices across all development teams

·         - Manage and mentor the UI Design Engineer that reports directly to you 


Skills and Requirements

·         - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software engineering

·       -   Strong communication skills with engineers, designers, and product managers

·         - Experience launching medium- to large-scale applications with one or more modern frameworks such as JQuery, AngularJS, React, or Vue

·         - A solid knowledge of UI best practices, trends and emerging technologies with the ability to function across development teams to drive successful product adoption

·         - The passion to automate and continually improve practices to build and release great products faster

·         - You're passionate about building software that matters, since the software you build also helps make a difference in the world

·         - A sharp attention to detail and dedication to cross-browser compatibility

·         - Preference for delivering simple solutions to difficult design challenges


Salary Range


- $70-110k

·         - A love for Hackathons, meet-ups and/or experience speaking at conferences
