(Career Progress) VIRTUAL FIELD ORGANIZER - CALL OUT THE VOTE

Here's the job description:

JOB DESCRIPTION - VIRTUAL FIELD ORGANIZER - CALL OUT THE VOTE

Starts September 6 • Ends November 9

In the midst of one of the most absurd Presidential races in history, we're fighting alongside some of the BOLDEST, toughest progressive candidates up for election -- to fill House, Senate, and local seats with elected officials who will expand social security and fight for debt-free college. But, we know that the only way we win is by getting people out to vote and that means effective organizing.

As a Virtual Field Organizer for PCCC's Call Out the Vote (COTV) program, you'll be part of a virtual team of callers across the country, who together will have more than 4 million interactions with progressive voters in the lead up to this key election.

Over the final months, we'll be helping bold progressive candidates like Zephyr Teachout, Pramila Jayapal, Jamie Raskin and Russ Feingold. These candidates all know that in order to win the progressive vote, and make big change in our country, it's necessary to put people first. This means expanding Social Security and Medicare, breaking up big banks, $15 an hour minimum wage, and taking concrete steps to deepen the bench of progressive power. Join us in electing a new class of #WarrenWing candidates.

Virtual Field Organizer

In the last election cycle, we hit record numbers when we made more than 4 million calls to voters across the country and scored a record numbers of victories on election day. To ensure an equally impressive victory in 2016, the PCCC is seeking highly motivated and goal-oriented individuals to fill our team of virtual callers.

These organizers will rally progressive voters in key states to elect the BOLDEST progressive candidates in our Call Out the Vote program. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to progressive values and internalize the importance of quality phone interactions with voters across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Use virtual predictive dialers to maximize the number of quality phone conversations with voters in key states.

  • Attend all virtual trainings to improve upon existing skills and learn new techniques to reach voters.

  • Meeting all goals and deadlines in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Comfortable with being on the phone for many hours each day and staying motivated.

  • Timely reporting to supervisors and open to giving and receiving feedback to ensure we not only meet, but exceed our goals.

  • Shifts will be scheduled in 4 hour increments, allowing for flexible schedules. Employees are expected to be able to complete at least 4 shifts per week.

Required Experience:

  • Excellent customer service experience in any sector

  • Balancing day-to-day goals with bigger picture goals in mind

  • Proven track record of maintaining high, positive energy despite long hours or negative interactions

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with call programs, door-to-door or street canvassing, or other field organizing

  • Successful track record of working remotely, independently, or outside of a traditional workplace setting, but still functioning as part of a larger team

  • Organizing skills are a plus, but not required

Skills, Characteristics, and Values:

  • Energetic and positive attitude; a dedicated team player

  • Active and clear communication - a necessity in a remote role

  • Flexible and able to adapt in a rapidly evolving environment

  • Acts with high integrity and professionalism

  • Attention to detail

  • Able to work nights and weekends and maintain work-life balance with high energy

  • Passion for progressive electoral politics

  • Commitment and drive to go all in on campaigns for our candidates

Location: Virtual. All applicants must have a functional computer connected to the internet and be on the phone at the same time. Cell phones are acceptable.

Reports to: Call Center Director

Classification, Salary, and Benefits: Part-time and flexible positions up to 29 hours a week available, $15 an hour. No benefits are available with this temporary position.

About Us

Founded in January 2009, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) is a national grassroots organization with a mission of building progressive power. With 1 million members, we help elect bold progressive candidates and work with them to govern progressively. Elizabeth Warren said: "PCCC members were with me since the beginning -- even before there was a beginning! Now, we have lots of work to do together." The Nation magazine awarded PCCC "Most Valuable Campaign" for our Draft Elizabeth Warren campaign. In 2014, many PCCC-endorsed "Warren wing" candidates won competitive Senate and House races, making the PCCC one of the few Democratic/progressive organizations with a big win record in 2014. We focus on economic populism and democracy issues -- including expanding Social Security benefits, Wall Street reform and accountability, and bold campaign finance reform.
