People's List Family:

We are so saddened to have lost a very dear friend, and the world lost a budding social entrepreneur. While living in D.C., David Baldwin Barnes was recognized as one of The Hill's "Movers and Shakers" and he took his relationship building skills across the sea to Ghana where he was a partner with SOLVE, a sustainable agriculture business. Anyone who knew him knew he lived an "OUTSTANDING" life and inspired us all to the same. Please join us in celebrating his life and legacy this Thursday at Park14 from 6-8 PM. The fees associated with bringing David back home are exorbitant, and this event will go a long way in helping his family. Our goal is to raise $25K. David never missed an event especially one for him--so come in your finest attire and raise a glass to the most stylish man we know, David Baldwin Barnes. From all of us, we thank you for considering a donation.

To attend the event, happening this Thursday at Park 14 from 6-8 pm, RSVP here: http://ddbfund.eventbrite.com/#

If you cannot attend, please consider providing a donation (ideally, at least $25) to the David Baldwin Barnes memorial fund (click here to do so).  Condolences can be mailed to:

The Family of David Barnes
Attn: Baldwin Barnes
25 Stonewall Circle
White Plains, NY 10607

Thank you so much for considering. And please, if you can't donate, take the time to let the people in your lives know how much the mean to you while they're still here. Please. This week's events are below. If you know of any events we missed, please e-mail the information to ThePeoplesList@gmail.com

I hope to meet you Thursday!

Sophie
xoxo

Our Washington Oscars

Last night everyone was buzzing about Hollywood. We thought we'd hand out our own "Washington Oscars" to the politicians and pundits who made the best of the last 12 months.

Example:
Best Dramatic Performance goes to Karl Rove for Election Night.

31 DC Tweeps You Need To Follow on Twitter

As a final wrap up for last weeks was social media week, we asked contributors and friends who they feel are the the "must follow" on twitter. After all the submissions we came up with a list of the 31 DC's Tweeps you need to be following!

Our Review of PX, Speakeasy in Alexandria

PX is the hidden speakeasy in Alexandria. Don't look for a sign because you wont find one. You'll have to find the nondescript door with the blue light. With their remarkable cocktails, this place will truely impress you or your date.
