GALVANIZE: Welcoming Jeffrey to the DMV

Great morning all,

Jeffrey Page recently joined my undergrad alma mater, Howard University, as Associate Professor and Coordinator of Musical Theatre in the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. Before coming to Howard, Jeffrey taught Theater, Dance & Media at Harvard University. His work as a director and choreographer spans Broadway, regional and international theatre, opera, film, television, and education. His Broadway credits include co-directing and choreographing 1776 and choreographing Violet, among many other directing and choreography credits.

Our paths crossed at Theatre Alliance, where Jeffrey is choreographing Cold War Choir Practice, the first production in their new Waterfront home.

As I've worked with Jeffrey, a few of the things I've appreciated are his talent, warmth, graciousness, and sense of humor. And, he's not simply interested in professional connections. He's genuinely looking to build community here. While DC is now home, he's interested in getting to know the people, artists, organizations, neighborhoods, and experiences that make the entire DMV such a vibrant place. He's even looking for recommendations for your favorite loc technicians and the best farmers markets, etc., so when I say community, I really do mean community. 😊

That immediately made me think of you all.

You all represent different corners of the DMV theatre community as artistic directors, directors, actors, producers, educators, collaborators, and connectors. I thought Jeffrey should know you, and you should know him. Perhaps this leads to a future production, casting opportunity, artistic collaboration, or simply a conversation and a new friendship. That's the beauty of community!

You can learn more about Jeffrey and his work here:

Jeffrey, welcome to the DMV Galvanize community. I'm delighted to connect you with some wonderful people that i love and respect dearly and who help make this community what it is.

I'll let everyone take it from here!

Warmly,
Lolita
