GALVANIZE: DC Council Campaign

Hello Artists, 

Please pardon me as I send along a note that isn't primarily arts related.

After eight years serving as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) here in DC, I have just filed my campaign to run for DC Council At-Large in the Special Election on June 16th.

I've put in thousands of hours over four terms fighting for affordable housing, safe streets, crime reduction and public safety, and opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs. We are currently at a scary and deadly tipping point with the current federal administration and my city, like other major cities across the country, is at risk of further federal overreach, hate, and violence. I can't sit idle and am looking to extend my work as a Commissioner, taking it citywide.

I have just under two months to acquire 3,000 signatures, 250 in small dollar donations, and to meet the $12,000 minimum for the Fair Elections program.

I have plenty of volunteer (canvassers) and paid staff opportunities available for freelancers and am particularly looking for event staff and marketing freelancers.
