Smithsonian's Discovery Theater will be auditioning artists for its 2024-2025 Season, including Seasons of Light, Black Diamond, Mother Earth and Me and More! (See descriptions below).
Multi-cultural and artists of color are encouraged to apply. Skills in music, puppetry, movement, interest in theater for young people and education a plus. Most rehearsals and performances take place Mon-Fri daytimes. All training, rehearsals, and performances PAID.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 25th through Friday September 27th from 10:00am-4:00pm. For consideration, please send your headshot, resume, and preferred date/time to: GameS@si.edu. Non-equity preferred; artists 18+ only.

An interactive celebration of world holidays including Ramadan, Devali, Las Posadas, and others.
Cast of 4: Mixed Ethnicities. Under 30 preferred.
Black Diamond
(Rehearsals: January 2025 Performances/Tour: February 2025)
Raquis Petree and Michael Bobbitt's hit musical about Satchel Paige and the Negro Leagues. Cast of 3: African-American actors to portray Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, and Jackie Robinson.
Mother Earth and Me
(Rehearsals: March/April 2025; Performances/Tour: April 2025)
Original museum theatrical production with music and puppets, telling of a child's journey getting to know and love our Mother Planet -- with her beauty, generosity and challenges.
Cast of 3: Multi-cultural ensemble. Experience teaching or performing for young audiences preferred, but not required.
