Civic Nation seeks an Associate Director of Program to manage the implementation of Civic Nation's grantmaking programs this cycle. Across Civic Nation's campaigns and initiatives we work to engage and mobilize the hardest to reach communities in service of our goals to build civic power and drive gender equity and racial and economic justice. We work with trusted partners at all levels and provide them with the messaging, tools, resources, and support needed to effectively reach our target audiences.
Reporting to the Director of Campaigns, the Associate Director of Program will be primarily responsible for the development of our grant program that will provide funding, training, and support to trusted community-based organizations (CBOs) to help them run targeted education, outreach, and mobilization campaigns aligned with the mission and priorities of our campaigns and initiatives.
This is a remote, short-term position that will end in December 2024, with the possibility to extend or move into a permanent position at that time.

The Campaigns and Partnerships team within the Civic Nation Hub supports the overall CN mission and the work of Civic Nation's initiatives. This team manages all short-term, time-bound campaigns; and supports the organizing, training, and partnerships strategy across the organization.

YOUR IMPACT
- Design and execute a grantmaking strategy, in collaboration with the Director of Campaigns, that empowers trusted community based organizations in our target states to implement outreach programming aligned with our mission.
- Build and maintain a community of practice for our funded partners that provides them with the training, support, and resources needed to meet their goals.
- Facilitate the sharing and incorporation of best practices into outreach work across all of Civic Nation's programming.
- Create and implement systems for accountability, tracking and reporting out progress on key goals and metrics.
- Manage a team of regional program staff, if funding allows. Lead and create an environment that fosters positive team culture, team development and growth.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of organizing, campaign management, or grantmaking experience, preferably with non-profit organizations.
- 2+ years of direct supervisory or management experience
- Experience engaging with high-level leaders, government officials, community based organizations, and other key stakeholders in the civic engagement space.
- Demonstrated experience on an electoral, issue, or civic engagement campaign focused on mobilizing stakeholders to accomplish a shared goal.
- Experience working with executive-level or senior leadership.
- Experience creating and managing budgets, complex strategies, and projects.
- Experience engaging diverse organizations, in size, structure, missions, tactics, and reach.
- Experience drafting program documentation, contract proposals, and grant applications or reports.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $77,000 - $95,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience. MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY
Civic Nation is committed to protecting our employees and our communities from COVID-19. Toward that goal, and in consideration of guidance released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a variety of public health authorities and professional organizations, Civic Nation has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for its employees.
All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment at Civic Nation unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they get their second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.
