Community Change Action is seeking to collaborate with savvy social media content creators, graphic designers, digital organizers, and data managers as part of our Digital Powerbuilder Fellowship.
The Digital Powerbuilder Fellowship is a part-time (10-15 hours/week), contracted opportunity at Community Change Action. We are looking for passionate individuals committed to social and racial justice with an interest in using digital tools, data, design and social media for organizing people into action.
As a contracted Digital Powerbuilder with Community Change Action, you will receive a monthly stipend ranging from $500-$1,200 / month depending on experience and hours worked per week. You'll have the opportunity to grow your digital skills in the progressive movement space and help Community Change Action scale our digital organizing work.

Digital Organizing Powerbuilders
A digital organizing fellow will collaborate with the Digital and Communications team, our Relational Organizing team and grassroots partner organizations to help manage and scale our Community Change Power organizing community.
The fellowship will consist of learning to use new digital tools such as Soapboxx (user-generated content), Phone2Action, EveryAction, broadcast SMS and Facebook to organize and grow our online base of activists. There will also be opportunities to manage data and create digital content.
In particular, your day-to-day tasks might include:
Draft copy for SMS, social media or emails that is creative, timely, and inspiring and aligned with the goals and values of the campaign.
Creatively use digital tools and best practices to achieve Community Change Power digital organizing goals, like managing Facebook Groups and engaging with activists to grow their leadership and power
Assist in data management by ensuring tags, activist, codes, unsubscribes, etc. are up to date
Create digital content such as graphics, gifs, memes for partners and campaigns as needed
Assist with creation of petitions and digital lobby actions
Provide support in the management of various digital tools such as Soapboxx, Phone2Action, EveryAction, OutVote and social media
Train volunteers and partner organizations on digital organizing best practices
Support other departments within Community Change Action with their digital needs
You might be a good fit for as a Digital Organizing Powerbuilder:
Have experience working on or volunteering on a campaign, like knocking on doors, making phone calls or other organizing experience
Background in using social media for a cause
Creative approach to solving problems
Like working with people and empowering others
Are a goal-setter and appreciate measuring and evaluating progress to goal
Social media Powerbuilders
Social Media Powerbuilders will put their skills to use to uplift stories from activists, volunteers and impacted people to promote vents, create graphics, memes and other digital content to build progressive narratives online, uplift our grassroots partners' work and increase awareness on Community Change issues and campaigns.
You might be a good fit for a Social Media Powerbuilder if you:
Have a passion for their local community and progressive issues and causes,
Love creating videos and images for social media and have a knack for creating unique content for their social media profiles,
Understand basic digital best practices (hashtag campaigns, trends, etc tagging, etc),
Be creativite and a have desire to tell and uplift others' stories and voices,
Be excited to work in a collaborative, team environment to find innovative solutions to the changing digital landscape,
Be aligned with progressive values that center racial and economic equity.
It's a plus, but not a necessity, if you:
Have experience growing social media audiences,
Have experience volunteering or working with campaigns,
Are trained in graphic design or video production,
Are fluent in Spanish.
Data and Visualization Powerbuilders
We're looking for folks who like working with data and using it to tell stories and measure progress to goals. As our digital organizing work continues to grow, we're looking for Powerbuilders with a knack for quantifying complex ideas into measurable, data backed goals and reports. Help us build systems for tracking organizing data and visualizing that data to tell the story of our work.
You might be a good fit for a Data and Visualization Powerbuilder if you:
Are a master at spreadsheets and have excellent attention to detail
Like creating systems and organizing data into clean and easy to read reports
Know the difference between an x and y axis and how to create charts and graphs from data sets
Creatively present data to "not-so-data-savvy" audiences
Metrics and progress-to-goal are your best friend
Have a basic understanding of organizing and/or progressive organizing technology (bonus points if you've worked with VAN/EveryAction or Phone2Action)
Have solid understanding of social media metrics
Bonus points if you have worked with website data in some capacity
