[Unicum] Fwd: PONGRATZ FAMILY, PONGRATZ GERGELY PHOTO AT BLAHA LUJZA TER BUDAPEST

Andrew Pongratz shared your post — with Simon B. Pongratz and 22 others .

On October 23, 1956, the Pongratz Family, my Father and his brothers were involved in the HUNGARIAN REVOLUTION! We, the nephews and nieces are humbled to this day on what the Uncles gave up for the right to be free! Each of them fought and did something amazing like tearing down the 40 ft Stalin statue, firing cannons into Communist tanks, writing up the New Government's constitution, getting guns from the local garrison, organizing the Freedom Fighters and ultimately leading a large part of the Revolution! Above is a tribute of our dear Uncle Greg. A huge poster, preparing for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Revolution in one of the largest streets in BUDAPEST HUNGARY. To our incredible Father's and Uncles we thank you for your amazing example and are proud to be "Pongratz"

My Uncle Greg's billboard in Budapest, "A Nation Said Enough" is what he mentioned often & what's written on this dedication to a man that gave everything to the country he loved.. Hungary. Proud to be his nephew & celebrate his spirit, my Father's love for his country & the life of all my Uncle's that fought for Peace. We all miss you Gergely Batya. Mindent a Hazaert
