DC Council - Research Coordinator (Washington, DC)
A prominent Councilmember is seeking a Research Coordinator for her fast paced office. Candidates must have a strong desire to make an impact in the lives of the residents of the District. Ideal candidates are quick learners and love solving problem.
Primary responsibilities:
Analyze proposed legislation.
Research and draft policy proposals.
Create reports that investigate and help provide oversight to government agencies and contractors.
Organize data to help the team draft better legislation.
Support the outreach and press work of the office.
Help staff and attend hearings and legislative meetings.
Desired Qualifications:
Research background is a necessity.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail are essential.
Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to see the big picture and remain attentive to details, deadlines and deliverables.
Eager to take on new tasks with a willingness to learn new skills.
Highly collaborative with an appreciation of the benefit of a multi-disciplinary team approach.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize and convey information clearly and precisely in a written and verbal format.
Campaign/community outreach work is a plus.
