Another solution would be to buy a prepaid Hungarian SIM card, change the phone number attached to the bank account to this number and put this SIM card into an old phone in the US. It doesn't work in dual SIM phones as a second card. For instance, T Mobile Domino SIM card receives the text messages that are sent from Hungary to US for free.

I had the same problem with Budapest Bank.  The banks over there are changing their programs and SMS will no longer reach the US basically because there are no cell service agreements among the providers between the 2 countries.  I even tried getting a dual purpose t-mobil phone and that hasn't seem to work either.  

 

The banks in Hungary don't really care about this issue and there is no US bank presence over there to get them in line.  Citibank only has a satellite office there but is not really registered.

 

In the end I had to go to Budapest and establish a pin code that allowed me to see my accounts on the bank app.  Of course you have to get a text to be able to set up the pin code.  

 

The Hungarian banks want to stay local and don't want to be on the global stage of banking.

Tisztelt Unicum Tagok!

 

Érdeklödni szeretnék, hogy rajtam kivül van-e másnak problémája az OTP internet banki belépéssel. Nekem egy itteni amerikai számra jöttek a jóváhagyó SMS-ek, én a T Mobile rendszeren vagyok. Kb. egy hete azonban nem kapom meg az SMS-t, az OTP azt mondja hogy tölük kimegy az üzenet, de itt a T Mobile rendszerébe nem érkezik meg.

 

Többször beszéltem az ügyfélszolgálattal mindkét oldalon, de úgy tünik nincs megoldás a számok amiken az SMS jönne blokkolva vannak.

 

Smart Bankos applikációm nincsen azt is csak SMS jóváhagyással tudnám aktiválni.

 

Ha valaki tud tanácsot adni, hogy mit tudok tenni, hogy hozzáférjek a számlámhoz szívesen veszem.
