Position Description:

Community Change and Community Change Action seeks an experienced Marketing Automation Systems Specialist to manage our marketing automation systems in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and EveryAction to deliver professional emails and SMS messages to our external partners and interested constituents.

The Marketing Automation Systems Specialist will be responsible for managing both marketing automation platforms by leveraging its capabilities while adhering to responsible sender practices and applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate has a passion affecting changes in community and social movements while creating best in class marketing automation solutions with technology.

Principal Responsibilities:

Manage marketing automation solutions for Community Change/Action

  • Create, develop and execute email and SMS campaigns to reach target partners and constituents, including list segmentation, testing and deployment for these solutions on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and EveryAction.

  • Maintain organization wide distribution list in CRM (Salesforce) and assist in integration activities of additional platforms into the marketing automation solutions.

  • Define KPIs, create reports to analyze campaign performance and provide recommendations to improve interactions and results.

  • Manage all marketing automation activities in Community Change/Action, including communication calendar.

  • Plan and perform A/B testing to define and refine the strategies and communication methodology

Develop templates and coordinate mass email marketing and SMS campaigns with Programs and internal departments

  • Be a single point of contact to coordinate marketing automation activities.

  • Provide day to day user support and answer user questions and process gaps.

  • Create and organize different email/SMS templates for various groups.

  • Instill good sender practices and distribution list management.

  • Resolve various scheduling conflicts and priorities. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of marketing automation solution experience, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and EveryAction preferred.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce, contact and list management in Salesforce.

  • Knowledge of good sender practices and industry contact management protocols. 

  • Strong independent Project Management skills.

  • Expert in communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficient in multitasking and managing competing priorities and expectations of various stakeholders.

  • Self-motivating with focus on prioritization to provide the best in class solutions.

  • Able to think critically and exercise independent judgement to make decisions.

  • Strong commitment and passion to building the political power of low-income communities, particularly people of color.

  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.

  • Experience and comfort working in complex, multi-issue and multi-cultural environments.

  • Commitment to economic, race and gender justice is essential.

This position reports to: Director of Integrated Technology

Classification: Community Change recognizes a staff bargaining unit affiliated with IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in Community Change's bargaining unit therefore is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Travel Requirements: This position may require some limited travel.

Salary & benefits: Starting annual salary of $75,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience. Community Change offers an excellent benefits package, which includes 4 weeks of annual paid vacation; additional paid holiday leave between December 24 and January 1; 8% employer contribution to retirement account after six months of employment (and 3% employer contribution for the first 6 months); and a choice of generous health insurance plans.

Position Location: Community Change/Action is based in Washington, DC.  Washington, DC is the preferred location for this position.  Remote work is acceptable, however (frequent) visits to the DC office will be required upon the office reopening from the COVID-19 pandemic.
