[Unicum] Karácsonyi istentisztelet

"Íme, a szűz fogan méhében, fiút szül, akit Immánuelnek nevezenek – ami azt jelenti: Velünk az Isten." Mt. 1,23

Kedves Testvéreim!

Magyar nyelvű, karácsonyt ünneplő istentiszteletet tartunk Nt. Mayer Judit szolgálatával és élünk az úrvacsora sákramentumával
december 25-én, szombaton délelőtt 11 órakor a Wesley Theological Seminary kápolnájában: 4500 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

(Career Progress) It’s On Us Spring Internship 2023

Civic Nation is currently seeking an intern for its It's On Us. The intern, reporting to the Senior Director of Education and Research, will provide support on the initiative's new research evaluation and program development. This is an exciting position for someone who is passionate about the use of ethical data collection to inform social change and would like to learn more about the field of gender-based violence prevention.

OVERVIEW OF IT'S ON US

Founded in 2014 as an initiative of the Obama-Biden White House, It's On Us is building a movement to combat campus sexual assault by engaging all students, including young men, and activating the largest student organizing program of its kind in prevention education programs.

With more than 300+ college campus chapters, our work is grounded in a peer-to-peer sexual assault prevention education model that empowers students to teach one another sexual assault awareness and consent education, bystander intervention, and survivor support.

It's On Us envisions a world where all college students are equipped to recognize that nonconsensual sexual activity is sexual assault, to identify situations in which sexual assault may occur, to intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given, and to create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.

It's On Us is the only program of its kind to combine grassroots organizing with high-impact culture change campaigns through partnerships with media outlets, creative agencies, and influencers such as MTV, Comedy Central, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire. Through these partnerships, we reach millions of young people with critical prevention and associated messaging.

ABOUT CIVIC NATION

Civic Nation is a nonprofit ecosystem for high-impact organizing and education initiatives working to build a more inclusive and equitable America. We shift culture, systems and policy by bringing together individuals, grassroots organizers, industry leaders and influencers to tackle some of our nation's most pressing social challenges. Our initiatives take on the biggest issues of our time — strengthening democracy, fostering civic engagement and voter participation, fighting for gender equity, and more. Civic Nation is home to six initiatives: It's On Us, ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, End Rape On Campus, United State of Women, We the Action and When We All Vote.

YOUR IMPACT

It's On Us has a small team, so our interns play a vital role in helping to further the success of the organization! The intern will focus on two specific projects: the Men's Athletics Sexual Violence Prevention Education Research Project and the National Campus Sexual Assault Attitudes and Behaviors Survey. Tasks will include:

  • Supporting the transcription of focus group and roundtable discussion recordings with college athletes from across the country,

  • Supporting the collection of data and feedback for any ongoing national research projects,

  • Assisting with planning and execution of It's On Us pilot programs, and

  • Other projects tailored to the interns interests and skills

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Be a recent high school graduate or currently enrolled in college or university

  • An interest in the use of ethical data collection to inform social change

  • An interest in learning about the field of gender-based violence prevention

YOUR COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate will be:

  • a strong researcher, writer, and communicator;

  • a team player who is flexible and willing to tackle a variety of projects;

  • detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

  • committed to equity and inclusion, someone who works well with diverse groups of people and recognizes the ways that race, gender, and other identities intersect with the criminal-legal system.

PROGRAM DETAILS

The Spring internship program will commence on January 23, 2023 and end on May 5, 2023. Positions are paid at the rate of $16.10 per hour and are remote. Hourly rate may be adjusted to comply with state and local minimum wage requirements. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Dates and hours are flexible.

MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Civic Nation is committed to protecting our employees and our communities from COVID-19. Toward that goal, and in consideration of guidance released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a variety of public health authorities and professional organizations, Civic Nation has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for its employees.

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment at Civic Nation unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they get their second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.

TRIGGER WARNING

It's On Us works in the field of gender-based violence and although the mission does not include direct support for survivors of sexual violence, there can be disclosures from students that occur.

TO APPLY

To apply, submit a cover letter and resume here. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The cover letter should be concise, compelling, and include why you would like to be an intern for Civic Nation.

***

At Civic Nation, diversity, equity, and inclusion are directly aligned with the fundamental belief that people are inherently capable but often lack opportunity. We know that a diverse workforce allows us to see problems in more nuanced ways, creating the thought leadership needed to fulfill our mission and reach our goals. Civic Nation is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes people from all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives to apply.

(Career Progress) Managing Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships

POSITION OVERVIEW

DPA is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Managing Director, Development & Strategic Partnerships to design and execute a fundraising strategy that ensures organizational longevity and expands strategic opportunities with influential constituents, friends, and allies. This is a key role on DPA's senior leadership team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Managing Director, Development & Strategic Partnerships will have two primary responsibilities:

  • As a senior advisor to the Executive Director and leadership team, identify, develop, and drive new initiatives, projects, and partnerships that are critical to the intersectionality of DPA's work
  • Provide strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and administration of all fundraising activities

The ideal candidate will be creative and analytical, collaborate well with a passionate and fun staff, and be adept at building relationships with a diversity of stakeholders, including leaders in philanthropy and partners in the movement. A strong manager of people and systems, they will lead a Development team of five in achieving annual revenue goals of $12-$15 million annually.

They will have a deep commitment to ending the drug war, advancing racial equity, and treating people who use drugs with respect and dignity. They will also have an in-depth understanding of philanthropy, social justice, criminal legal reform, health, advocacy, and/or politics.

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) is the leading organization in the U.S. working to end the war on drugs, repair its harms, and build a non-punitive and equitable regulated drug market. We envision a world that embraces the full humanity of people who use drugs, and where the regulation of drugs is grounded in science, compassion, health, equity, and human rights. We fight every day, in collaboration with other movements, and at every policy level – local, state, federal, and international – to change laws, advance justice, and save lives.

We currently prioritize the following issue areas:

  • Decriminalizing drugs and building health-based alternatives
  • Ensuring our systems help people, not hurt them, by uprooting the drug war from our daily lives
  • Reinvesting resources into communities and divesting from punitive policing and law enforcement
  • Rethinking and reducing punishment of people in the drug trade
  • Legalizing and regulating drugs the right way

DPA has grown to more than 35 staff across the U.S. with an annual operating budget of approximately $15 million; and 200,000 members, activists, and supporters.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership team to establish fundraising goals, set strategic priorities, advise on program development, and formulate annual budgets
  • Advise the Executive Director and leadership team on organizational strategy and partnerships with organizations in and beyond the drug policy reform movement to expand our reach and impact.
  • Cultivate relationships with individual and institutional donors and prospects. Solicit major gifts. Steward long-term relationships with DPA's growing network of funders
  • Develop the fundraising potential of an active and energized Board of Directors
  • Manage a team of four other development professionals. Provide guidance, direction, and motivation. Ensure strong internal communication and coordination. Evaluate development staff performance and offer opportunities for professional growth
  • Partner with Communications & Marketing to ensure message consistency and use of proprietary communication channels for fundraising purposes
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop annual budgets and three-year fundraising projections. Generate quarterly financial reports to senior leadership, the Board, and staff
  • Stay abreast of political and philanthropic trends and ensure that Board and staff are informed of changes in laws and other trends that might impact DPA's strategic partnerships and influence

EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit management, preferably with political systems, fundraising, electoral, and/or legislative campaigns
  • Commitment to DPA's mission and understanding of the organization's policy issues and political landscape
  • A persuasive communicator. Ability to persuade and influence others around ideas, decisions, and financial support in individual and group settings
  • Proven commitment to diversity across all lines of difference
  • Experience managing teams and programs, including creating and building successful fundraising campaigns
  • Clear understanding of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit legal issues and structures
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various constituencies, including allied organizations, active board members, and leaders in philanthropy
  • Well-developed writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 10%

LOCATION

NYC, DC, or the San Francisco Bay Area preferable, but not required

A filmet angol felirattal vetítjük.

A program ingyenes, RSVP szükséges:  rsvp@kossuthfoundation.org

Cim: Kossuth Ház

2001 Massachusetts Ave, NW

Washington DC, 20878

A rendező szavai a film születésének történetéről:
