Re: GALVANIZE: OT: Pay-What-You-Can Counseling for DC-area Creatives

Thank you, Joy for your transparency.

Thank you, KenYatta for your truth and love.

I cosign on both sides.  Not much more to add.  We MUST take care, break through, and live with TRUTH and LOVE.  It is imperative we find it in ourselves so that we can share it with each other.

A great program. And this (or something like it) is so important while we care for our DMV/national community through the art we create and curate. Each artistic endeavor is absolutely an act of love and care. Own it and be proud, but also, what do we need to refresh, renew, and heal when we provide such soulwork for our communities?

Programs like this one.

Overwhelm the providers of these services with responses and scheduling so that they hear and recognize their (GWU and DC Office of Cable TV, Film, Music & Entertainment) responsibility and importance in the cycle of community-centric creation/sharing/renewal.

Disclaimer.
I have not participated (yet)m but raves from a trusted Galvanize creative that has taken part in the Care for Creatives Counseling who has.

Take advantage if you can. And if not this resource, find one that suits you. Put your best foot forward....

Thank you Galvanize fam for what you do for us. I am renewed every time you create.

The DMV needs you as well.

[Unicum] Segítség egy magyar családnak - Help for a Hungarian Family

an ismeritek, nagyon sok finom süteményt sütött a közösségnek.

Dear Hungarian-American Community and Friends,

I'm Gabriella Balsa, many people know me because I have a little Hungarian daycare in Rockville. I am writing to you to help one of the little boys and his family. Andriska is a 3-year-old, a very charming and smart little boy who was attending my daycare. About a month ago he started getting sick, which is natural in a child's life, but unfortunately, he had a hard time recovering from it and a week ago was diagnosed with leukemia.

His mother, Angelika, is well known to many of you, she has baked a lot of delicious desserts for the Hungarian community. She is currently spending her days in the hospital with her son, who just started a series of chemotherapy treatments which will last for years. His dad, Gergő works, takes care of the older brother, and goes back and forth to the hospital multiple times a day. I know that a lot of you want to help, that's why I'm writing to you, so that anyone who can help with any small financial donation can do so on this GoFoundMe website.

The other thing is, I am religious, and I believe in the power of prayer. Anyone who thinks similarly, please pray for Andriska's healing power and family in this difficult time.

Thank you,

Gabi and friends of the family

(Career Progress) [JOB] Regional Director of Program

Civic Nation is seeking a Regional Director of Program for Made to Save, a national public education and grassroots mobilization campaign working to save lives by increasing access & trust in the COVID-19 vaccines. The effort serves as a centralized hub to coordinate and disseminate messages and effective strategies through a broad coalition of trusted partners.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Program, this person will be primarily responsible for our relationships with local governments, the healthcare community and our community-based grantees in the region.

The ideal candidate for this position brings 4-6 years of experience in state-based organizing,  with a preference for individuals with deep community relationships in the assigned region, a demonstrated ability to foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork, and experience working in any of the following states: Florida, Georgia, or North Carolina. To be qualified for this role, you are a detail-oriented project manager who thrives in balancing the execution of multiple priorities, and is passionate about equity in our healthcare system.

This is a remote, "short" term campaign that will end in July 2022.

ABOUT THE MADE TO SAVE CAMPAIGN

The Made to Save campaign, launched in April 2021, is an education, outreach, and grassroots mobilization effort working to save lives by building public trust in the COVID-19 vaccines through trusted messengers who can engage in dialogue and share clear, consistent information with communities most impacted by the pandemic.

The effort is anchored in the power of grassroots organizing, centered in equity, rooted in evidence-based strategies to build trust, and informed by public health experts. We aim to depoliticize the COVID-19 response and deploy trusted messengers to engage in trust-building dialogue and empower local groups to lead.

Building trust in vaccines requires an intentional and careful approach. Made to Save serves as a centralized hub to coordinate and disseminate proven messages and effective strategies through a broad coalition of trusted partners. We also provide financial and outreach support to community-based organizations in areas hardest hit by the virus, which are overwhelmingly Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities where discrimination and systemic racism have created health inequities and bred disproportionate levels of medical distrust.

ABOUT CIVIC NATION

Civic Nation serves as a mobilization hub at the intersection of creative communications, community organizing, narrative and culture change strategies, and high-level stakeholder engagement. At Civic Nation we house some of the most innovative campaigns organizing for progress across the country including It's On Us, The United State of Women, and When We All Vote, Co-chaired by Michelle Obama.
