Subject: research on Hungarians in the US

Dear Unicum Readers,

I am turning to you with a request concerning a research on Hungarians living in the US. I am an assistant professor writing about the impact of fast track naturalization on members of the Hungarian diaspora in the US. In the framework of the research, I would like to interview Hungarians living in the US who became Hungarian citizens through the new non-resident citizenship law enacted in 2011. My primary aim is to find out if and how naturalization changed the attachment and identification of diaspora Hungarians who took up Hungarian citizenship while living in the US.

In the framework of the research, I am planning to interview Hungarians in the US on the phone, via Skype and in person (I will be in New York and Boston in late April). Interviews will be in English or Hungarian - whichever the interviwee is more comfortable with.

Could you please let me know if you aware of anyone who would be willing to participate in the research? I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

Thank you very much in advance,
Dr. Szabolcs Pogonyi
