Call for Applications!

Since the early 1960s, Ad 2 chapters across the nation have been providing pro-bono advertising and marketing campaigns to non-profit organizations in their communities. Ad 2 DC's 2011-2012 campaign placed third nationally, providing the client with advertising, social media, public relations, fundraising and infrastructure support at no cost to the organization.

Applications for the 2012-2013 campaign have now opened, and Ad2 DC encourages DC-area nonprofits to apply.

Please send applications to publicservice@ad2dc.org by Friday, August 17, 2012 to be considered. Client selection will take place in early September.

Please contact Public Service co-chairs Kathleen Barry or Charles Panagopoulos (publicservice@ad2dc.org) with any questions you may have.

==================

As members of the greater American Advertising Federation (AAF), Ad 2 chapters across the nation give back to their communities year after year using the skills and talents that brought us together in the first place: our Advertising skills of course!

Around the end of summer each year, Ad2 DC chooses a local non-profit which they will work with through the following Spring to create and execute a pro-bono advertising/marketing campaign. The campaign varies based on the needs of the client: whether it's promotion, brand awareness, logo design or media and interactive elements.

At the yearly AAF National Conference, we present our campaign and compete against fellow Ad 2 chapters across the nation.

The Public Service campaign is a vital part of what makes Ad2 DC successful. It allows us to connect and show our appreciation to the community we live and work in. It builds our club's integrity by allowing our young professional, student and recent graduate members to work together and grow their industry experience (ahem, resume too). And last but certainly not least—it allows us to show off just how awesomely talented we really are!

Are you a young professional interested in getting on the Public Service Committee?

The Public Service campaign is a benefit to you in a variety of ways. You can use it to build your resume and portfolio with real experience. If you are an avid designer looking to try your hand at copy writing, here's your shot. If you simply want to see what it's like to work in a group setting on a real ad campaign, come on board!

For more information, please contact the Public Service Chair at publicservice@ad2dc.org.
