Rezso Kasztner was known as the "Jewish Schindler." He negotiated face-to-face with Adolf Eichmann, the architect of the Final Solution, as 12,000 people each day were dying in Auschwitz. Kasztner was able to secure a rescue train for 1,684 Jews from Hungary and bargained for tens of thousands of more lives.
