Color Of Change is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant in Washington, DC. The Executive Assistant will be charged with providing high-level administrative support to the Senior Campaigns Director for their department, managing logistics for special events, and assisting with special projects. The ideal candidate will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will be able to handle multiple competing priorities with ease. They are impeccably organized, extremely detail-oriented, and interested in racial and social justice issues. In supporting a senior-level staff member, the person who fills this role will have a unique window into the inner workings of the movement. The Executive Assistant will report to the Deputy Senior Campaigns Director for their department.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly organized self-starter with exceptional skills in creative problem-solving and verbal and written communications. While experience in a similar role in the civil rights sector is not required, a commitment to civil rights and racial justice is. You should have:

    • Effective communication skills. The ability to clearly communicate with the Director Level staff you are supporting and others in the organization is paramount; especially in fast-paced moments, you'll need to be clear and ask for clarity in return.
    • Top-notch organization skills. If the books on your bookshelf are in alphabetical order, your notes utilize colors with specific meanings, and you find long to-do lists energizing, we want to talk to you! There's a lot to keep track of in this role, and nothing can fall through the cracks. Meeting deadlines is key.
    • A sense of ownership. The Executive Assistant allows key members of the team to perform at the highest possible level.  A successful candidate will be responsive but also proactive. Importantly, you're able to work calmly and intentionally under pressure.
    • A commitment to confidentiality. In this role, you'll have a window into movement and organizational politics at the highest level – confidentiality is key.
    • Strong writing and verbal skills. The ability to communicate information clearly is fundamental to this role. You will be asked to draft documents, edit others, and communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills. In this position, there's no one to hold your hand. A successful candidate will enjoy thinking on their feet and will know how to apply sound judgment and rationale to any situation.
COMPENSATION

The salary for the Executive Assistant position is $72,000. This is a full-time exempt position. Color Of Change also offers a competitive benefits package.
