(Career Progress) Front-end Website Developer at a fun, scrappy, firm in D.C.

Veracity Media, a digital strategy consulting firm focusing on political campaigns and non-profit advocacy, is looking to hire a smart, highly creative, scrappy, and motivated website designer in Washington, D.C.

If building great websites, apps, or tools is exiting; if you like hacking stuff and using APIs to do cool things; if you are interested in working at a small start-up firm whose team members' mission and purpose extends beyond the work immediately in front of them, then this is the job for you!

On an average day, you might be taking a wireframe and coding it into a dynamic, mobile-responsive website or building a Twitter widget so supporters of a campaign can tweet at legislators. If you like coding websites and apps, we want to interview you!

This position is great for entry level dev with a strong portfolio of work to show off, or experienced hands who can code up a storm. Either way, apply!

Above all, Veracity is a fun, exciting, and flexible place to work.

Stuff that might help:

  • Experience in building websites using HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • Knowledge of/experience with Bootstrap or Foundation

  • WordPress, NationBuilder, Drupal or other CMSes

  • PHP/Node/Angular/Rails/Liquid or other back-end language experience

What else might help you succeed at Veracity?

  • Highly creative, innovative thinker capable of handling multiple projects across all phases of execution with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, flexible and client-oriented

  • Experience with NationBuilder or NGP/VAN

  • Strong communication skills, flexible and client-oriented

  • 2 cycles or more of political campaign field organizing experience

  • 1 cycle or more of political campaign digital experience

  • 1 cycle or more of political campaign communications experience

  • Excellent writing ability

  • Project management and client delivery experience

  • Website project management (non-technical)

  • Management of large/influential social media accounts

  • Managed or worked on mass email campaigns to large/influential lists

This is a D.C. based position. Remote applicants will not be considered. Interviews may take place over the phone or in person. Applicants may be asked to submit work samples beyond what is initially provided. We offer competitive salary, based on experience, and you will have access to Veracity's healthcare benefits package, commission for work brought in, as well as potential for more benefits down the road.

Please submit your resume, cover letter, any work samples you find relevant, and favorite ice cream flavor to jobs@veracitymedia.com. Please include the position you are applying for in the subject line.
